Company Bio:

Theatre Reverb is young company of interdisciplinary artists from the United States and Central Europe that specializes in the creation of original theatre pieces and spectacles. The company received “Audience Choice” and “Sold Out” awards from the FRIGID New York festival (2008), was featured on the “Polsat International,” Polish television network’s program Faces of America (Oblicza Ameryki), and also received project grants from the City University of New York. They are currently in residency at Galapagos Art Space in New York where they are regular hosts and performers in the cutting-edge series The Floating Kabarette. Their newest production Bonne Nuit Poo Poo is scheduled to play at Galapagos in New York in this spring.

Artist Bios:

Kristin Arnesen (Maxi, Script, Sound and Video Design) Kristin is the cofounder of Theatre Reverb where she has been developing new interdisciplinary works since 2006. Her favorite roles as a performer include: ‘Olga’ in Theatre Reverb’s productions (2006-2009); ‘Whisper Chorus’ Mabou Mines: Red Beads (2005), and ‘Maxi’ in her current production. She earned her undergraduate degree in theatre performance at Marymount Manhattan College in 2003, completed her MA at Hunter College (2008), and is an artist in residence at Galapagos Art Space. She has also trained in the dance theatre kathakali, which she studied in Kerala, India and bharatanatyam which she studies in New York with Kamala Cesar.

Christopher Thomas Gilkey (Max) Mr. Gilkey received his B.F.A. in acting from Brooklyn College. His favorite roles include: ‘Björn’ in Theatre Reverb’s productions (2006-2008); ‘Trofimov’ in The Cherry Orchard (Bakerloo Theatre Project); ‘Goldwyn’ in Pride (Riante Theatre); ‘Beau’ in Asleep on the Wind (Brooklyn College). He is an artist in residence and regular emcee and performer at Galapagos Art Space in New York.

Radosław Konopka (Operator, Script, Sound and Video Design) Radosław is a video and theatre artist, sound designer and audio engineer. He came to the United States in 1994 and later received his BA from the CUNY Baccalaureate Program. He is the co-founder of Theatre Reverb and helped to create the company’s productions Olga’s Secret Circus (2006), An Act of GluttoMime (2007), ExcesSecret: “¿Guess What ‘It’s’ About?” (2008), Watch Out! (It’s Go Time) (2008), and the group’s ongoing experiments in video and internet performance. He is also an artist in residence at Galapagos Art Space in New York.

Archana Janardhanan (Choreography for “Bei Mir”) Archana is a dancer and choreographer living in New York City. She is classically trained in kuchipudi, a style of Indian classical dance, and has extensive experience in hip hop dance. Archana teaches classes in Bollywood, hip hop and Indian fusion dance styles throughout the city.

Daryl Carmen (Voice Over) Daryl would first and foremost like to thank Theatre Reverb for the inspiration to recruit him for this project. “Thanks for believing in my nationality given Talent” This is the second time Daryl’s nasal vocals and his love of Apocalyptic Imagery have clashed, and he is as proud of his involvement in this as he was the last time.

  1. Man o Man I loved this play. I don’t know what “avant-garde” is supposed to mean but Theater Reverb is definitely on the front lines of something. Buoyant, joyous performances, astoundingly clever sets and arrangements, and parts where I was smiling so much my face hurt. I’M NOT JUST SAYING THAT. My face actually hurt. Great job!!! Five stars.

    Saw the show last night and it blew my mind. Weird, endearing and kept me on my toes.
